WBAI Rocks!

Welcome to the future site for WBAI Rocks!

This site is to rally around WBAI/NY to organize a national women's campaign and contests for
* raising awareness and outreach to stop rape, bullying, and all forms and causes of relationship abuse and sexual abuse,
* raising $2 million to save WBAI/Pacifica Radio in NY,
* creating a network of sustainable investments, microdonations and microloans
to support women recovering from rape, trafficking, and other abuses,
with a focus on women in business, education, and community development.

I would like to thank Trisha Meili for sharing her experiences in her book "I am the Central Park Jogger,"
inspiring this vision of creating a central business investment hub in NY,
as well as Amanda Nguyen of RISE and so many other brave women (from Stuebenville, Stanford, and Hollywood)
who have stood up and spoken out to bring out the issue of rape, legal abuse, and bullying victims to national and worldwide attention.

One of my favorite heroes in this fight to stop abuse of rape victims, is my good friend Juda Myer, www.choices4life.org,
whom I credit and thank for being called as strong ally and voice for women she has helped when nobody else understood.

I ask that we dedicate a central campaign and HQ in NY to you,
organized around WBAI which can serve as the national hub for restitution and recovery for rape,
and also put a call out to offenders to invest in restitution to help victims, so the men are included in the recovery process and future prevention.
Instead of athletes protesting the flag and anthem as symbols, why not invest in helping victims raped by athletes or recruits at college parties, and/or
covered up for the benefit and profit of sports and team interests!
My heart goes out to both the men and women caught in social and political pressures,
while we seek an end to these problems made worse by legal abuse in addition to rape and harassment.

For example lyrics inspired by the Stanford rape case, where a student athlete only got 6 months
while the victim suffers years of recovery from the physical, personal, and political trauma:
